The first phase at The Granite House provides an orientation to the program and the structure of daily life at the facility.
Residents must remain in the house at all times, and they are required to participate in all Phase 1 groups and one-on-one counseling sessions.
The strong presence of a 12 Step Program is experienced as residents receive a sponsor, home group, service position, and actively begin to learn to practice the Twelve Steps in their daily life.
Physical activities, including access to the gym daily, weekly sporting events, paintball, and yoga classes, are also available. Through interaction in groups and activities, residents begin developing an accountability to each other.
While the timetable for completing Phase 1 varies, The Granite House sets a 30-day minimum for residents, allowing time to gain a solid foundation in the 12 Step Program.
