The second phase of the program at The Granite House emphasizes the importance of developing life skills as part of a successful recovery.
Groups in this phase address money and time management, continuing education, and employment concerns and opportunities.
For the first time, residents may leave the house during pre-determined hours to search for jobs. By developing career or academic goals, residents begin to take steps towards creating personal and financial independence.
For some residents, this phase provides the guidance and support to return to a part of life disrupted by addiction. That may include the loss of jobs, expulsion from school and financial disasters. For other residents, this introduction to vital life skills may be a first.
The duration of time spent in Phase II will be determined by the recovery team at The Granite House, and will allow for continued growth in the 12 Step Program.
